Run Streak 2013




Today saw me kicking off my 2013 Run Streak with a gentle 1.6 mile jog

The official definition of a running streak, as adopted by the Streak Runners International, Inc., 
and United States Running Streak Association, Inc., is to run at least one continuous mile (1.61 kilometers) within each calendar day under one's own body power (without the utilization of any type of health or mechanical aid other than prosthetic devices).  Running under one's own body power can occur on either the roads, a track, over hill and dale, or on a treadmill.  Running cannot occur through the use of canes, crutches or banisters, or reliance on pools or aquatic devices to create artificial buoyancy.


I did wear clothes though!

Day 10 in the weight loss house

It's been exactly 10 days since I started blogging my Herbalife experiment and today I wanted to see if there had been any change in the numbers, and also replenish my protein powder.   

So I went to seek out my dealer but he was off sunning himself with the family on the profits, but before he left he kindly stashed my gear so I could pick it up, but I had to seek out his competition to get my weigh-in fix. 

Once I tracked down the kingpin of Herbalife, out came his scales of justice, off came my socks and the numbers came back...  


As of today I now weigh 15st 13lb, a decrease of 6lb; a body fat content of 19.5%, a decrease of 6.7%; a Visceral fat score of 8, a decrease of 3; and a muscle mass of 12st 5lb, an increase of 12lb... 

Not bad for starters!  :0)

Formula 1 shakes

Day two of the Herbalife experiment and I have to admit the shakes taste OK. 
Yesterday and today I have downed my two F1 shakes per day along with my extra personal protein powder, 3 Vitamin and 6 Fibre and Herb tablets, protein bars, Herbal tea extracts and 2 - 3 litres of water each day.  I've felt no pangs of 'let's raid the fridge' throughout ... although today it may have had something to do with the traditional Sunday dinner I had as well ;0)

BMI                - Body Mass Index.
Protein Factor  - Is your calculated optimum amount of protein per day in grams for
                          optimum weight loss.
RMR               - Resting Metabolic Rate (amount of calories burnt on a resting day)
AMR               - Active Metabolic Rate (amount of calories burnt on a training day)

From the results above your daily calorie intake must not exceed 2034 calories per day.  In order to achieve the best possible fat loss results without losing any muscle or decreasing your metabolism, you need to consume at least 169 grams of protein per day.  This is very important!  We actually want to try and increase muscle mass so this is imperative. 

You could try two shakes made with milk, two level scoops of Formula 1 powder and 4 heaped scoops of protein (2 per shake) powder 20 grams of protein. 


Your typical day should consist of two Herbalife shakes, two/ three/ four healthy snacks and a protein rich colourful meal (2-3 different colour vegetables)


If you stick to this plan with at least 2-3 litres of water a day after the first week you will be feeling fantastic.
